My friend just bought a new print of one of my paintings, and she re-framed an old print so they both match her new kitchen decor! What a great job she did, no?
Just sold this painting, "Nantucket Garden". Here it is in the owners' living room. Glad they will now enjoy a little bit of the island year-round!
Thrilled to have just sold this painting to a homeowner from Needham, MA. It blends beautifully with the room's fresh, summery color scheme of pale lime and yellow with touches of orange and pink.
My artwork was on view today at the Needham Women's Club Holiday House Tour, at the 26 Meadowbrook Road location. The annual tour raises funds to support the Club's mission to enrich the lives of the Needham community through philanthropic and outreach programs.
Coldwell-Banker Real Estate in Newton recently exhibited about a dozen of my paintings to "stage" a lovely home now on the market in Waban!
I just read a blog post on flatfileboston.com, a great resource for artists and art buyers. I love something they said, and I've loosely copied it here:
“Taste in art is subjective, but when you buy art that you like, and you are confident it’s of good quality, and it is at a price you can afford, you are making the right decision.”

Two of my pieces have been accepted to the juried "no limit" show at Fountain Street Fine Arts Gallery, upcoming in June (see "Upcoming Exhibitions"). I'll also be showing at the Arsenal Center for the Arts, June through August, and am currently showing at the Newton Art Association and at Unbound Visual Arts in Allston. I have a solo show coming up at Avery Crossings in mid- to late August. Check out the "Exhibitions" listings for details.
April 6-7 was Spring 2013 Newton Open Studios. I had a very good turnout and it was great to see past and new customers, fans, friends, and neighbors. My collages were very well received, with many folks inquiring about the process of their creation. I sold collages as well as paintings, so a good weekend all-in-all. Thanks to all who visited!
Just sold this painting to Joanne and Lew Levy. Here's a photo of them with my painting on the wall in their kitchen/dining area. Enjoy, Joanne and Lew, and thanks!
Been busy working on a Holiday series and several new still life paintings. Also trying to learn more about blogging and improving my website! Always happy to hear suggestions and comments! My current challenge is finding the right color for the last, unpainted section of a painting, which can make or break a painting, believe it or not! But it's become a fun challenge for me. I'm trying not to be so "precious" about every color I lay down, allowing myself to change things more along the way. This actually allows for more of a feeling of "being a painter", when I layer color-over-color and see the richness this yields. I think the preciousness comes from my days as a silkscreen printmaker, when it was harder to make changes, so I had to discipline myself to get each color right the first time. Happy New Year!
